Small Business Week 2023 is April 30- May 6. Small businesses are the backbone of America – and Ohio. Small businesses (500 or fewer employees) make up 99.9 % of all U.S. businesses. - There are 2.2 million small business employees in Ohio.
- 44.7 % of Ohio employees work for small businesses.
- 24,670 small establishments opened in Ohio from March 2020 to 2021
- The largest percentage age of small business in Ohio are in the fields of Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
- There are over 49,200 small businesses in Greater Cleveland – roughly 5% of all Ohio’s small businesses.
