Employer-led sector partnerships connect workers to careers and help employers find the talent they need.
Next-generation sector partnerships are dynamic collaborations of employers, colleges and universities, and workforce service providers that implement strategies to develop and connect skilled talent to jobs and career pathways.
By connecting businesses and workforce development training and service provider partners together in innovative ways through business-led sector intermediaries, the workforce development ecosystem will become more efficient, effective, and equitable.
Through public and private partnerships with organizations across the region, GCP is working to meet in-demand industry needs while supporting equitable talent identification, development, advancement in sustainable career paths. To date, partnerships have been convened in the Manufacturing, Information Technology, Healthcare, and Construction sectors.

The MSP Scholars Program is a unique opportunity for students who are Black, African-American, or of African descent to access scholarship funds, world-class work experiences, executive mentors, and a pathway to leadership in Greater Cleveland’s manufacturing industry.
Students selected as manufacturing sector partnership scholars will receive:
- $2,000 Scholarship Award for education expenses
- Access to world-class internship, co-op and job shadowing experiences
- Curated exposure to the Northeast Ohio manufacturing industry
- Personalized connections to manufacturing executives throughout the year
- Other professional development opportunities in manufacturing
