National Apprenticeship Week: November 17 - 23

Apprenticeships work. For employers. And workers. And the community.

In honor of National Apprenticeship Week 2024, GCP - who hosts a Registered Apprenticeship Hub - is looking at the transformative power of Registered Apprenticeships. Did you know:

  • Each year, more than 800,000 apprentices gain skills across a variety of industries.
  • After three years, 89% of apprentices are still with their employers.
  • A U.S. Department of Commerce & Case Western Reserve University study showed every dollar invested in apprenticeship programs yielded a 47% return.
  • More than 7,454 new apprenticeship programs have launched since 2020.

The value of apprenticeships to both individuals and employers is clear. With such strong career and financial advantages, they are truly a winning option for anyone looking to learn while they earn. Employers develop future workforce and diverse talent they need to accelerate innovation and growth. Apprentices gain experience, invaluable education, recognized credentials and greater potential for upward mobility than non-apprentice peers.

GCP's Equitable Registered Apprenticeship Hub is an initiative funded by the US Department of Labor to create talent pipelines into a broad range of fields and sectors.

The Hub does the heavy lifting of designing and supporting Registered Apprenticeships and Pre-Apprenticeships to fit your business needs. It offers innovative, flexible and on-demand talent solutions, providing your company a broader talent pipeline and earn-and learn opportunities to a high-quality and motivated pool of workers.  There are currently Registered Apprenticeships in five industries: healthcare, facilities maintenance, hospitality, insurance and IT. The program includes financial incentives to help employers create registered apprenticeships.

Find out how you could benefit from a Registered Apprenticeship program today.

Registered Apprenticeships help fill open jobs, save money and create a more diverse pipeline of skilled, motivated and high-performing employees. Learn more at apprenticeship.gov.

Thank you to our sponsor, Sherwin-Williams, for their support and financial contribution to this important workforce initiative.
