FOUNT is redefining fashion in Cleveland and beyond

Made-to-last fashion is here to stay, according to the husband-and-wife duo behind FOUNT leather.

Founded in Cleveland by Phillip and Jackie Wachter in 2014, FOUNT makes staple bags and accessories for men’s and women’s closets. Their mission since day one has been to fight fast fashion by creating goods that are durable and accessible. That mission is now a nationwide production, rooted in sustainability and accessibility.

“When we first set out, our goal was to design an indestructible bag,” says Jackie. “So to say 12 years after that we’ve still never had a strap break on our totes is really cool.”

With that claim to fame comes the promise that if a strap does break – the bag owner can bring it into a FOUNT shop for a free repair. FOUNT’s other accessibility initiatives include their Patina Shop, which lets shoppers trade in gently used bags for store credit toward a new one or for a pre-loved FOUNT bag at a lower price. Additionally, every FOUNT owner is treated to free conditioning to keep their bags strong.

When asked to find three ways to describe her Cleveland-based business, Jackie mentions made-to-last, fair and classic. To learn more about FOUNT, visit their website.
