Cleveland's Superhero: GV Art and Design shirts pay homage to Superman movie

Greg and George Vlosich love being from Cleveland.

It’s evident in their lifelong residency, the sports they love, and the designs they print on the T-shirts at GV Art and Design, their family-owned business.

One of the first designs they remember creating a buzz at their 10-year-old business was their “Super C” Superman-esque shirt.

"I remember seeing an article or something, and I’m like, ‘wait, Superman’s from Cleveland,’” Greg recalls. “Our whole brand is about spreading Cleveland pride and highlighting what makes the city different, special, and great, so we were like, we’ve got to do something about this!”

Fast forward to the filming of the 2025 film in Cleveland, when the brothers were surprised to see director James Gunn wearing their shirt in an Instagram post. Even with countless athletes sporting their designs, a movie director shooting in their hometown rose to a different level.

As part of the Superman hype, GV Art and Design is releasing two new shirts paying homage to the superhero. Proceeds from the shirts benefit the Cleveland Film Commission’s goal to encourage future movie filming in Cleveland and across Ohio. George is also tapping into a unique talent to celebrate the movie.

“I’m known for doing artwork on the Etch a Sketch, so I decided to do one of Superman for the premiere here in Cleveland. I don’t usually get a chance to take the time and do the Etch a Sketches…so it’s got to be a big event to do it,” he says.

Big events like this in Cleveland get the brothers excited – part of a special bond they share.

“It’s always really fun to do, especially as a family and as a team,” Greg says.
