December 3, 2021 I 8:00 – 9:00 AM
Please join us for a conversation with Amy Arrighi, Chief Legal Counsel of Ohio’s Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA), an agency that provides services to collect income tax for more than 300 municipalities in the state of Ohio.
Earlier this year, a temporary rule governing municipal income tax withholding was set to expire. The rule specified that if individuals must work at temporary worksites, including their homes, because of the pandemic, those employees are still considered to be working at their regular place of employment—allowing employers to continue withholding as if employees were not working remotely.
The latest state budget bill extended the rule until December 31, 2021, but it is set to revert to the pre-pandemic withholding rule beginning in 2022. With remote work likely here to stay, this conversation will address what employers can expect when it comes to navigating municipal income tax withholding in 2022.
